The City Council of the City of Norwalk desires to involve its citizens in the affairs of the City by providing opportunities for participation and service on local regulatory and advisory bodies. Advisory Bodies are comprised of volunteers appointed by City Council to serve their communities. Individuals may serve on more than one Advisory Body at a time. City Council members do not serve on the Advisory Bodies.
There is no compensation for serving on an Advisory Body, with the exception of the Planning Commission, which is a regulatory body that reviews complex issues involving development in the City. Compensation for the Planning Commission is $200 per month, regardless of attendance.
Below is a list of the City's advisory bodies, their principal duties, and the meeting dates and times of each. All meetings take place at Norwalk City Hall, unless otherwise noted. Agendas may be accessed by clicking on the "Agendas" link to the left.
If you desire to be considered for an appointment to one of these advisory bodies, please complete the attached Application for Appointment to Advisory Bodies and return to the City Clerk's Office, Room 10, Norwalk City Hall, 12700 Norwalk Boulevard, Norwalk, CA 90650.
